Privacy Policy

ERA Massage & Beauty (“ERA”, “we”) is a massage, osteopathy and beauty clinic at 9705B Horton Rd SW, unit 102B, Calgary, Alberta. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and how you can reach us about it.

What we collect

• Contact details: your name, phone number and email address.
• Booking history: the treatments you book and the team members you see. We use Fresha to manage bookings, payments and reminders.
• Health information you share with us: health history and notes about your treatment. We collect only what your therapist needs to treat you safely.
• Insurance details: your insurer, policy and member numbers, when you ask us to bill your insurer directly.
• Messages: what you send us by phone, text, email or Instagram.
• Website data: pages visited and general device information, collected with cookies through Google Analytics and, when we advertise on Facebook and Instagram, the Meta Pixel.

Why we use it

• To book, provide and follow up on your treatments.
• To bill your insurer when you ask us to.
• To send appointment confirmations and reminders.
• To send news and offers by email, only if the law allows it. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• To understand how people use our website and make it better.

Who we share it with

• Your insurance company, only for claims you ask us to submit.
• Service providers that run parts of our business: Fresha for bookings and payments, Google for website analytics and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) for measuring our ads. Fresha uses your information only to provide its service to us. Google and Meta also use website data under their own privacy policies, as described below.
• Anyone the law requires us to share it with.

We don’t sell your personal information.

How we protect it

Only the team members who need your information to serve you can see it. Electronic records are kept in Fresha, and paper records in locked cabinets at the clinic.

How long we keep it

We keep client and treatment records for 5 years.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to emails at any time. Contact us at info.eramassage@gmail.com or (403) 281-8411. Our clinic administrator answers privacy questions.

If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (oipc.ab.ca).

Cookies

Our website uses cookies for analytics and to measure our ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without them.

Google Analytics and Google signals

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our website, with Google signals turned on. If you are signed in to your Google account and have allowed ad personalization, Google signals lets Google connect your visits across your devices and give us summary reports on age range, gender and interests. These reports are anonymous: they never show us who you are, and we don’t use them to show you ads. You can turn off ad personalization in My Ad Center (myadcenter.google.com) or stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

Meta Pixel

When we advertise on Facebook and Instagram, our website may use the Meta Pixel. It tells Meta which pages were visited after someone saw our ad, so we can see which ads bring people to our site, and it lets us show our ads to people who have visited it. Meta receives the page address, information about your browser and device, and its own cookie ID. How Meta uses this information is explained in its privacy policy (facebook.com/privacy/policy). You can limit ads based on your activity in Ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.

Changes to this policy

We’ll post any changes on this page with a new date.
